15kV Polymer Insulator For Substation Bus System

Substation post insulators are crucial components in substations, providing mechanical support and electrical isolation. Traditional post insulators are typically made of porcelain with a protective glaze layer to improve their weather resistance and pollution resistance. Composite insulators offer comparable electrical performance to porcelain insulators while possessing superior hydrophobicity, significantly reducing the risk of flashover and lowering cleaning and maintenance costs. Furthermore, they are lighter, facilitating transportation and installation, and reducing the mechanical load on the supporting structure. Therefore, their application in modern substations is continuously increasing.
