
At present, composite polymer tension insulators are widely used in power gridtransmission lines, accounting for about 50% of the line silicone rubber insulator consumption. Among them, the proportion of linear towers is higher. Almost all linear towers in heavily polluted areas use composite insulators. Composite polymeric insulators have solved the pollution flashover problem that has plagued the power grid for many years with their excellent anti-flashover performance.
This series of products are composed of three parts: glass fiber epoxy resin drawing rod, silicone rubber umbrella skirt and metal fittings. The silicone rubber umbrella skirt adopts the whole injection and compression process, thus solving the key problem affecting the reliability of composite insulators -- the interface electrical breakdown.
The connection between the glass drawing rod and the metal fittings adopts the unique glue fitting technology, and adopts the most advanced pressing technology in China. It is equipped with the automatic sound wave flaw detection system with high strength, beautiful appearance, small volume and light weight. The metal fittings are galvanized to prevent corrosion and can be used interchangeable with ceramic insulators.

1. Application Overhead Line Transmission Composite Suspension and Tension Insulators are used on overhead line trasmission for fastening and insulation of the high voltage wire. Composite insulators are the replacement for porcelain and glass insulators. Their performance is good at filth area, and it preventing line transmission pollution flashover effectively.

3. Structure and performance
3.1 Structure Overhead Line Transmission Composite Suspension and Tension Insulator is made up by housing, core rod and end fittings mainly. Rated voltage lower than 110kV has no corona rings (Pic 1 shows).110kV or higher voltage has one or two rings, or as customer’s requests (as Pic.2 and Pic.3 shows).
3.2 Performance
3.2.1 The silicone rubber housing taken shape by whole injection. It has good hydrophobicity, hydrophobicity migration and soil resistance, as well as excellent electrical insulation properties and aging resistance, which could prevent effectively those accidents of pollution flash-over so as to ensure the safe running of high voltage transmission lines.
3.2.2 The modified ECR fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin rod is used as it has good resistance to high temperature, stress corrosion & acid attack, as well as fine damping action, high tensile strength (> 1200Mpa) and resistance to creep and fatigue failure, which effectively ensure the internal insulation quality and mechanical strength of insulators.
3.2.3 End fittings are crimped onto fiberglass rod with voice-operated displacement type crimp. The insulators with this crimping technique have high mechanical strength and small dispersion. Taking the most advanced automatic overall injection moulding technical and connection method of crimping for production and assembling, and the whole crimping procedure controlled by computer and the crimping result monitored by ultrasonic detector to assure each product is qualified.
3.2.4 It has tight structure, small volume, light weight(1/7 ~ 1/10 of the same type porcelain insulators), nice elasticity and excellent anti-fouling ability (regular cleaning is unnecessary). The merits make it easy to transport, installation, less maintenance work and fee, less working strength, and provide a good condition for repairing and performing compact type transmission line.
3.2.5 The connection location between end fittings & rods is fused with sheds housing by the overall high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber injection molding as it could minimize the interface. The internal radial multi-sealing structure effectively guarantees a long-time reliability of seal around the connection between end fittings & rods.
3.2.6 Corona rings could improve the electric-field distribution, reduce the interference of radio and corona, and protect the housing burning out in hard arc. The higher the voltage, the more effective for the function of corona rings.

4. Inspection before installation
4.1 Before dispatched, the goods will be performed routine test and sample test comply with related standards. In case damage during the transportation, each one’s sheds and housing will be checked thoroughly. Superficial defects of an area greater than 25 mm² (the total defective area not to exceed 0.2% of the total insulator surface) or of depth greater than 1mm.
4.2 If sheds and housing tear down or wear down, and the rod exposed to the air, please do not use the products.
5. Packing
5.1 All composite insulators are packed in weatherproof containers in order to protect the products during land, air, and sea transportation. Several different grades of packaging can be offered depending on the mode of transport and the expected storage conditions. The packaging options that we offer are 1) standard grade/prefabricated packing, 2) economical grade/cardboard carton, and 3) best grade/closed wooden crate. Since the user best knows their crate requirements, they should select the option that is most suited to their needs and include that information in the purchasing specification. Special packaging arrangements can be accommodated upon request.
5.2 Each container is marked with the number of insulators it contains, the catalog number, the manufacturer’s name, and any other customer requests.
5.3 Each packing (wooden cases or crates) attached specification and certification of products.

6. Cautions on installation, storing and transportation
1) Before installation, the goods should stored in dry warehouse. It should not expose to oil and petrifaction products, and should take actions to keep away from rats
2) During transportation, heavy and sharp things can’t be putting on Insulators. The packing should be unclosed only at installation site.
3) Be careful and avoid edge tools cutting the insulator’s sheds when unpacking the Box.
4)Don’t drag the insulators on the ground at installation site..
5)Be careful not to bend the insulator too much,which avoid the excessive bending stress of insulator’s rod.
6)Insulators should be carried by two or more persons in manual handling.
7)The rope should be attached to the end-fitting rather than hang it directly on the insulator’s sheds when in hanging installation.
8)It need to pay attention that the ring-shaped smooth surface of corona ring should be face the insulator’s shed when installing it.
9)Don’t treading and climbing on insulators..
10)Don’t treading on the mounted corona ring or hanging rope and heavy objects on it, in case of cause the corona ring to loose or damage the surface.
11)Try to avoid excessive bending or torsional stress to the core rod during installation, don’t rotate the insulators that has been fixed or loaded
