2. Sample tests (Selected Randomly)
Test Standard for line post insulators: IEC61952 Composite line Post insulator for AC systems with a nominal voltages greater than 1000V--General definition, test methods, acceptance criteria and enterprise standard.
2.1 Verification of dimensions(including structure height, arcing distance, creepage distance(E1+E2)
The dimensions shall be verified and meet the tolerances given in the drawings.
2.2 Hot-dip galvanized coating test (E2)
The end fitting zinc thickness of the insulators is measured by magnetic force method. 10 points were measured on the surface of end fittings. The minimum thickness of the galvanization shall be ≥86μm.
2.3 Verification of the SCL (E1)
The cantilever load shall be applied to the insulator at the conductor position, in the direction foreseen in service.
The load shall be increased rapidly but smoothly from zero to approximately 75% of the SCL and then shall be gradually increased in a time between 30 s and 90 s until the SCL is reached. If the SCL is reached in less than 90s, the load shall be maintained for the remainder of the 90 s. For test objects exhibiting large deflections it may not be possible to reach the SCL within 90s; if this occurs then the time shall be noted in the test report.
Acceptance criteria: The insulator shall be regarded as passed if the SCL can be maintained for the required time.
