The structure consists of two main parts: the cross-arms and the insulators, also known as disc insulators, which include several metallic links. A suspension insulator, or suspension string, is formed by connecting multiple insulators in series using these metallic links. The conductor is suspended from the lowermost insulator, while the top end of the insulator is secured to the cross-arms. These insulators are primarily used in overhead power lines.
