Production Introduction
Products Description
Composite Tension Insulator
Composite suspension insulators are essential components used in high-voltage electrical transmission and distribution systems. These strain insulators are designed to mechanically support and electrically insulate power lines from transmission towers or other supporting structures. Unlike traditional ceramic or glass insulators, composite silicone rubber insulators are made from polymeric materials, typically consisting of a fiberglass-reinforced resin core, surrounded by a silicone rubber housing.

The advantages
Lightweight: Composite insulators are significantly lighter than their ceramic or glass counterparts, making them easier to handle, transport, and install.
High Strength: The fiberglass core provides excellent mechanical strength, ensuring that the insulator can withstand the tension of the suspended conductors.
Weather Resistance: The silicone rubber housing is highly resistant to weathering, UV radiation, and pollution, which enhances the insulator's durability and reduces the need for maintenance.
Hydrophobic Properties: Silicone rubber exhibits hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties, which help to prevent the formation of water films on the insulator surface, reducing the risk of flashover during wet conditions.
What is the difference between a suspension and a strain insulator?
"Suspension" and "Strain" insulators are the same thing; when used in the vertical position (with the conductor hanging below) they are called "suspension"; when used in the horizontal, to dead-end a conductor, they are called "strain". There are two basic types of suspension insulators: unipart and multipart.
