The 38kV fuse cutout is connected to the incoming feeder of the distribution transformer or lines, serving to protect transformers or lines from disconnection, overloads, and switching currents. The cutout unit is comprised of insulator supports and a fuse tube. Static contacts are fixed on both sides of the insulator bracket, and movable contacts are installed at both ends of the fuse. The interior of the fuse tube consists of an arc-extinguishing tube, while the exterior is made of phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass. Fuses act as the fastest overload protection devices for high short-circuit currents, featuring low minimum breaking current, low power losses, and low arc voltage.
