XP—ordinary suspended porcelain insulator expressed by electromechanical damage load; X—ordinary suspended porcelain insulator expressed by electromechanical load for one hour, the number in the lower right corner is the design sequence number, the numbers 70, 80, 100, 120, 160 , 210, 300 are rated electromechanical destruction loads (KN); 3, 4.5 are mechanical loads (t) for one-hour electromechanical experiments, C-groove links (spherical links are not shown). The pollution resistance of the insulator mainly depends on the structure of the product and the shape of the umbrella skirt. A lot of work has been done in this area. Through design optimization, artificial pollution test optimization and natural pollution test optimization, the insulator skirts with large and small umbrellas and ribbed insulators were determined. Insulators with a rated voltage of 126kV and 252kV and a bending failure load of not less than 12kV and a creepage ratio distance of 25mm/kV developed with this umbrella skirt can withstand high operating phase voltages for a long time under 0.12mg/㎝2 equivalent salt density, namely The class III creepage distance of the insulator is tolerant of class IV equivalent salt-tight pollution. Insulators with a rated voltage of 550kV and a creepage ratio distance of 25mm/kV can be operated for a long period of time under 0.06mg/㎝2 equivalent salt density. The pollution resistance level of the insulator is excellent in China, and it can withstand the equivalent salt density value one third higher than that of similar products with the same creep distance and equal diameter umbrella skirt. The results of the artificial pollution withstand voltage test on the insulation of the Northeast Electric Power Test and Research Institute showed that the insulator with a creepage ratio of 31 mm/kV withstands a high value salt density of 0.25 mg/㎝2.

High earthquake resistance.

Insulators with rated voltages of 252kV and 550kV were tested for seismic performance of magnitude 9 at the Beijing Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, and the results were intact.

Low radio interference.

Insulators with a rated voltage of 550kV produce radio interference of not more than 500μV at 1.1 times the operating phase voltage. There is no visible corona on sunny nights, and the visible corona voltage is as high as 450kV.
