State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company Transmission Inspection Branch ultra-UHV operation and maintenance squad leader Fang Yuan line inspection.
On January 24, at about 9 o'clock in the morning on the third day of the Lunar New Year, Fang Yuan, the monitor of the UHV operation and maintenance class of the Transmission Inspection Branch of the State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company, and his colleagues stepped into the wilderness on the outskirts of the city, facing the fifth-level cold wind. A special inspection of the UHV line was carried out. They specially inspected a 500 kV UHV line around the construction site of the Wutian Expressway project in Suohe Street, Caidian District, which was under construction.
This year is the first Spring Festival after Hubei implemented the localized operation and maintenance of ultra-UHV transmission lines. In the past, they mainly operated and maintained 35 kV, 110 kV and 220 kV high-voltage lines. The operation and maintenance of transmission lines is not only related to the safe and stable operation of Wuhan power grid, but also affects many inter-provincial and inter-regional transmission lines. In the event of a failure, it may cause the safe and stable operation of the power grid system.
According to reports, compared with the past two years, the momentum of the return of migrant workers during the Spring Festival this year is significantly more fierce. In recent days, the activities of returning workers have become much more frequent than in the previous two years, especially the setting off of fireworks and firecrackers, fishing under high-voltage lines, and flying kites around the line have also increased significantly, which has brought a more significant impact on the safe operation of the line. "This change has made our Spring Festival special patrol more important." Fang Yuan said that they must be more sensitive to detect and stop some behaviors that endanger power lines or easily cause safety hazards during special patrols, and make emergency preparations in a timely manner.
According to the requirements of UHV line inspection, the entire inspection work is to use manual inspections to find, prevent and control and deal with potential safety hazards such as construction damage, wildfires, tree barriers, house barriers, and fishing in a timely manner. The floating objects, such as plastic greenhouses, bird-proof belts, etc., are reinforced and dismantled in time, and key parts are inspected by drone, and laser point cloud data are produced to timely grasp the distance between the wire and the ground, the house, the tree and bamboo, and the thatch.
At the same time, relying on the transmission monitoring class to monitor the transmission channel with video surveillance, issue early warning information in a timely manner, and carry out relevant emergency treatment. In the event of emergencies and failures, personnel can also be organized to carry out emergency repair work in a timely manner, and the normal operation of the line can be restored in a short period of time to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid during the Spring Festival.
Up to now, the mileage of high-voltage lines in Wuhan has reached 1,342 kilometers, of which 48 are ultra-UHV lines above 500 kV. In order to do a good job in the operation and maintenance of transmission lines during the Spring Festival holiday, the entire State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company Transmission Inspection Branch dispatched a total of 71 personnel and 27 vehicles during this period. An average of 35 special patrols for power protection were carried out every day, involving 42 overhead lines.
