Composite polymer insulators are made of high-quality silicone rubber housing and sheds, providing excellent resistance to tracking, erosion, and harsh environmental conditions. The core rod is manufactured from epoxy fiberglass, delivering superior mechanical performance - with up to 1.5 times the expansion strength of ordinary steel and 3–4 times the tensile strength of porcelain. This ensures outstanding axial tension capability, vibration absorption, and superior seismic performance.
These composite suspension and tension insulators are widely used on overhead transmission lines to provide reliable mechanical support and electrical insulation. Compared with traditional porcelain and glass insulators, composite insulators offer better hydrophobicity and pollution resistance, effectively preventing flashover in contaminated or coastal areas.

Certifications & Compliance

This test report focuses on the prototype test of FXBW-500 AC composite suspension insulators supplied by Wuhan Line Power Transmission Equipment Co., Ltd., with all test results complying with GB/T 19519-2014 (IEC 61109:2008, MOD) requirements.
Applicable Standard: GB/T 19519-2014 (equivalent to IEC 61109:2008, MOD).
Test Type: Prototype test covering design tests, material tests, type tests, and sample routine tests.
Key Test Items & Core Results
End Fitting Interface & Connection Tests: Passed sudden load release (165kN/275kN), thermal-mechanical cycles (-35°C to +50°C, 4 cycles), 42h boiling NaCl water immersion, steep-front impulse voltage (1000-1500kV/μs), and dry power-frequency voltage tests (flashover voltage 401.8-402.8kV).
Shed & Housing Material Tests: Hardness reached 65-66 Shore A (≤1.5% post-boiling difference); 1000h UV aging showed no cracks (surface roughness 5.28-6.14μm); passed tracking/erosion (19.7kV, 1000h), flammability (FV-0), and hydrophobicity tests (θav ≥106.1°).
Core Material Tests: Passed dye penetration, 100h boiling water diffusion (leakage current ≤42μA), and stress corrosion withstand tests (377kN, 96h); average mechanical failing load of assembled cores was 740.4kN.
Type & Sample Tests: Met dry/wet lightning impulse withstand voltage (up to +2314kV), corona extinction voltage (404.4kV), and dimensional requirements (insulation length 4450±50mm); mechanical routine tests (275kN, 10s) showed no damage.

The test was conducted by the Power Industry Quality Inspection and Test Center for Electric Equipment (affiliated to China Electric Power Research Institute, CNAS-accredited: CNASL0699).
The report is valid with official seals and signatures of compilation, inspection, verification, and approval, ensuring legal and technical authority.
