Clamp classification
Tension clamp

For corners, splices, and terminal connections. Spiral aluminum-clad steel wire has strong tensile strength, no concentrated stress, and plays a role in protection and auxiliary vibration reduction for optical cables. The tension clamp is used to fix the conductor or lightning protection wire to the tension insulator string of the non-linear tower, and acts as an anchor, and is also used to fix the stay wire of the stay pole tower.
According to different structures and installation conditions, strain clamps can be roughly divided into two categories. The first category: the strain-resistant clamp must bear all the tension of the conductor or lightning conductor, and the gripping force of the clamp is not less than 90% of the rated tensile force of the installed conductor or lightning conductor, but it is not used as a conductor. This type of clamp can also be removed after the wire is installed and used separately. Such clamps include bolt-type strain clamps and wedge-type strain clamps. The second category: tension clamps are used as conductors in addition to bearing all the tension of conductors or lightning conductors. Therefore, once this type of wire clip is installed, it cannot be disassembled, and it is also called a dead wire clip. Because it is a conductor, the installation of the clamp must be carefully carried out in accordance with the relevant installation operating procedures.
Hanging clamp
It is a common stereotyped product that retains the U-bolt pattern to fix the overhang (usually called a ship-shaped clamp). It is composed of a hanger U-bolt and a hull. The other is the pre-twisted suspension clamp, which is widely used in China.
Old-fashioned boat-shaped clamp: This kind of clamp wire can be used for lightning protection wires. It can withstand the installation load of the conductors in the vertical span, and does not allow the clamp to slide or break away from the insulator string when the line is in normal operation or broken. The tower using this clamp has a large bearing pressure.
The function and application of the pre-twisted suspension clamp: it is used for the connection of ADSS optical cable, OPGW optical cable, various wires, etc. on the straight pole tower. Bending stress plays a role in protecting and assisting vibration reduction for optical cables. A complete set of suspension clamps includes: inner and outer pre-twisted wires, suspension heads and matching connecting hardware. The grip force of the clamp is greater than 10%-20% of the rated tensile strength of the optical cable, which is convenient for installation.
Piercing clip
It has the characteristics of easy installation, low cost, safety, reliability and maintenance-free. The cable branch can be made without cutting off the main cable or stripping off the insulation layer of the cable. The joint is completely insulated and can be used for live work. It can be branched at any position of the cable. There is no need to use terminal boxes and junction boxes. And the joint is resistant to twisting, shockproof, waterproof, anti-corrosion and aging. The use of insulation piercing clamps as cable branches has obvious comprehensive benefits, and the cost performance is better than the traditional connection methods in the past. [1]
Equipment clamp
It is mainly used to connect the down-lead of the busbar of the substation with the outlet terminals of electrical equipment (such as transformers, circuit breakers, isolation openings, wall bushings, etc.), because the outlet terminals of common electrical equipment are copper and aluminum.
