Strain insulators are used in these situations. They are made to handle the pulling force (tension) of the conductors. These insulators are strong and help support the line when it ends or turns. Strain insulators are also called tension insulators.

The umbrella cover material uses high-temperature silicone rubber throughout. This material has better water repellency and aging resistance than earlier materials such as epoxy resin, EPDM rubber, and room temperature vulcanizing silicone rubber. Therefore, it has strong resistance to flashover. Currently, the rubber compound formulation has been further optimized. The aluminum hydroxide powder in the compound has undergone activation treatment, which greatly improves its water repellency. High-end products use silicone rubber produced from imported D4 monomer raw materials, further improving its anti-aging properties.
