Polymer disc insulator FXBW-245-220 is used for overhanging and tension-resistant overhead lines or substations with rated voltages of 10~330kV and frequencies not exceeding 100Hz in ordinary and dirty AC power systems.
It is especially suitable for polluted areas and can effectively prevent pollution flashover. It is widely used as a substitute for porcelain insulator at present.

The material

The insulation performance of the insulator is related to the material and structure used. Generally common insulators are made of ceramic materials, ceramic has a strong insulation performance, used as insulator material is very good.

Structure

The main reason why traditional porcelain insulators and glass insulators have poor stain resistance is the hydrophilicity of their surfaces. The contaminant layer on the surface of the insulator forms a continuous conductive layer along the surface of the insulator under humid weather conditions such as fog, dew, and light rain, so the insulation strength along the surface decreases sharply. Silicone rubber composite insulators are a new generation of insulators for power systems. Their excellent anti-pollution flashover properties first benefit from the unique surface hydrophobic migration properties of silicone rubber materials. In addition, the simple and smooth umbrella shape and thin rod diameter also An important factor in the excellent pollution resistance of composite insulators.

RTV coating (room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber coating)

This is a long-lasting hydrophobic antifouling paint with a lifespan much longer than that of ordinary paints. The earliest RTV paint in China has been exposed to the sun outdoors for more than 10 years and has been running live for more than 10 years. Its anti-fouling flashover mechanism also changes the surface properties of porcelain insulators, making them hydrophobic.
