These types of insulators are mainly used in power station systems for the support and insulation of high-voltage busbars and reactors, and can also serve as insulating support components in disconnector switchgear.

In actual operation, these insulators primarily bear bending loads; when used as components of disconnectors, they also need to withstand certain torsional loads.

The main difference between power station post composite insulators and line post composite insulators lies in their application environments.

Line post composite insulators are mainly used in high-voltage transmission lines, while power station post composite insulators are mainly used in substations or converter stations, and can also be used for the support and insulation of busbars in switchgear and pantographs on electric locomotives.

The basic structure of a single component consists of upper and lower flanges, an umbrella sleeve, and a central core. High-voltage support columns are composed of multiple components connected by bolts.

The central core can have a single solid core drawn rod structure, a multi-solid core combined drawn rod structure, a single solid core drawn rod with an external winding structure, or a hollow strip with an internal umbrella cluster structure.
