Polymer Post Insulators For 46kV To 500kV

A polymer insulator is primarily composed of an FRP (fiber-reinforced polymer) core, a silicone rubber housing, and metal end fittings. In many applications, polymer line post insulators are installed on supporting structures (such as wooden poles, steel poles, or towers) by means of an additional base.

The FRP core serves as the internal insulating component and is designed to provide the required mechanical strength. The silicone rubber housing functions as the external insulation, ensuring adequate creepage distance while protecting the core from environmental exposure. Metal end fittings are attached to both ends of the core to transfer mechanical loads effectively. The base is used to adapt the end fitting for secure installation onto the supporting structure.

The core is manufactured from a premium pultruded FRP rod, designed with optimized fiber orientation and uniform fiber distribution within the epoxy resin matrix to ensure excellent mechanical performance and reliability.

The bases are fabricated from ductile iron for rigid types or rolled steel for bendable types. All base components are protected by hot-dip galvanization to provide effective corrosion resistance.

The end fittings are produced from ductile iron in accordance with ASTM A536. All external surfaces exposed to environmental conditions are hot-dip galvanized in compliance with ASTM A153 to ensure long-term corrosion protection.

Transmission Lines: Suitable for medium-voltage (10–66 kV) and high-voltage (110–500 kV) systems.

Conductor Support: Designed for use in straight-line sections or angle (corner) structures.

Enhanced Line Reliability: Particularly suitable for operation in polluted environments, coastal regions, and industrial areas.

Lightweight Design: Ideal for crossing complex terrain and for reducing tower structure costs.
