November 13 (Xinhua) -- Ma Jun, co-chairperson of the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group and president of the Beijing Institute of Green Finance and Sustainable Development, said in a written interview with reporters a few days ago that China promotes the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group. Substantial results have been achieved, contributing Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to addressing climate change and promoting the world's energy transition.

Ma Jun said that in recent years, in order to cope with climate change, support environmental improvement and save and efficient use of resources, China has initially established a green financial system. In 2016, during its presidency of the G20, China introduced green finance into the G20 agenda for the first time, and jointly formulated the G20 Sustainable Finance Roadmap with other countries in 2021, providing important guidelines for guiding international market funds to support climate change.

Ma Jun said that during Indonesia's presidency of the G20, the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group proposed a set of transitional finance frameworks to provide useful reference for countries to develop transitional finance and establish policy frameworks.

He said that under the impact of various factors such as geopolitics and extreme weather, many countries are facing energy crises of varying degrees, and many traditional energy companies cannot obtain low-cost funds to promote clean energy transformation, and the Chinese scheme will help jointly cope with this global challenge.
