500kV Suspension Insulator Successfully Passes Lightning Impulse Test
The 500kV suspension insulator successfully passed the lightning impulse test at the China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) in May 2025.
The test was conducted using a modern 5400kV impulse voltage system (accuracy: ±2%) and was fully compliant with the international IEC 61109 standard. It evaluated the overall performance of the composite insulator under simulated lightning strike conditions.
