1. Zero-value self-breakage, easy to detect: Composite suspension insulators feature zero-value self-breakage. Observation can be done from the ground or from a helicopter, eliminating the need for pole-climbing and piece-by-piece inspection, reducing labor intensity.
Products from imported production lines have an annual self-breakage rate of 0.02-0.04%, saving on line maintenance costs. Excellent arc and vibration resistance: Even after lightning strikes, the new surface of the glass insulator remains smooth glass with a tempered internal stress protection layer, thus maintaining sufficient insulation energy and mechanical strength.
In multiple incidents of conductor galloping caused by icing on 500kV lines, composite suspension insulators subjected to conductor galloping showed no degradation in electromechanical performance after testing.
2. Good self-cleaning performance and not prone to aging: According to widespread feedback from the power sector, glass insulators are not prone to dirt accumulation and are easy to clean. Glass insulators operating on southern lines are relatively clean after rain.
The electromechanical performance of glass insulators on lines in typical areas was measured periodically after operation. The accumulated data of thousands of data showed that the electromechanical performance of glass insulators after 35 years of operation was basically the same as that at the time of manufacture, and no aging phenomenon was observed. The main capacity is large and the voltage distribution in the string is uniform. The dielectric constant of glass is 7-8, which makes the composite insulator have a large main capacitance and uniform voltage distribution in the string. This is beneficial to reduce the voltage borne by the insulators near the conductor side and the grounding side, thereby reducing radio interference, reducing corona loss and extending the life of glass insulators.
