What is post insulation?
The post insulator plays a crucial role in overhead high-voltage transmission lines. It was initially used on poles in the early years but later became integral to supporting multiple insulators on towers to connect high-voltage lines. Its primary purpose is to increase the creepage distance. Post insulators are typically made from materials such as ceramic, porcelain, or silicone.


What is the difference between porcelain and composite insulators?
Suitable for polluted areas, high mechanical tensile loads, long spans, and compact lines. The flashover voltage in polluted conditions is 30%-50% higher than that of porcelain and glass insulators of the same grade. It maintains stable performance in ambient temperatures ranging from -60°C to +200°C. The non-puncture design eliminates the need for zero-value measurement during operation. It offers excellent electrical performance and high mechanical strength. The internal load-bearing epoxy fiberglass rod provides tensile and bending strengths twice as high as ordinary steel and 8 to 10 times higher than high-strength porcelain materials, effectively enhancing the reliability of safe operation.
