Baihetan—Zhejiang ±800kV UHV DC Transmission Project
Baihetan-Zhejiang ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project is a key project of the national (State Grid of China) strategy of "West-to-East Power Transmission". The station, passing through 5 provinces and cities including Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Anhui, and Zhejiang, has a total length of 2,140.2 kilometers and a transmission capacity of 8,000 megawatts. It is expected to be put into operation in March 2023. At that time, Sichuan's hydropower configuration will be greatly optimized, and the level of clean energy consumption will be improved. At the same time, more than 23.6 billion kWh of clean electricity will be delivered to Zhejiang every year, reducing Zhejiang's coal consumption by 10.57 million tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 19.19 million tons. The environmental benefits are significant. It is of great significance to ensure Zhejiang's energy supply, optimize the energy structure, improve the level of energy cleanliness, and help the high-quality "carbon peak" in Zhejiang's energy sector.
