Polymer Cutout Fuse Link Assembly

In electrical distribution, a fuse cutout-commonly known as a cutout-is an integrated device that combines the functions of a fuse and a switch. It is utilized in primary overhead feeder lines and taps to safeguard distribution transformers against current surges and overloads.

A blown fuse occurs when loose wire connections, damaged wires, an appliance with internal wiring issues, or an incorrectly wired lamp lead to a short circuit. Additionally, wires that have been gnawed by rodents within walls can cause a hot wire to come into contact with the grounding path or a neutral wire, resulting in a short circuit.
